# Website versions

Use this whenever the user asks for website designs, redesigns, or "make me some versions."

## The loop

1. Never overwrite the current site. Work on a copy. Before changing any file, save a dated backup in a `backups` folder.
2. Build every version on ONE preview page with buttons at the top to switch between them, numbered V1, V2, V3... Five versions is the default batch size.
3. Use the user's real words and real photos in every version. No filler text. If there are no photos yet, ask for them before building.
4. Only change one kind of thing per batch. Colors, fonts, and spacing in one batch. Page structure and layout in a different batch. Never both in the same batch.
5. Show the preview and ask one question: "Which version is closest?" Do not ask more than that.
6. Next batch: take the winner and make 3 variations of it in the direction the user gives. Deviate, but don't go crazy — the winner's structure stays.
7. When the user says a version is final, show it with their real content at phone width and computer width before calling it done.
8. After any deploy, fetch every link and image on the site and report any that are broken.

## Style of talk

The user is not a programmer. Explain what you did in one or two plain sentences. Never paste code at them. Never use words like "responsive," "hero section," or "CSS" without saying what they mean in normal words.
